If you are playing Counter-Strike Online 2 for the first time, you might be unfamiliar with the complex layout compared to the simpler direct approach in other Counter-Strike games.
The Quick-Start guide brings you through the crucial aspects of the game . If you are looking to explore more, access the User Interface guide.
Joining games have never been simpler. Simply click on the large font (QUICK JOIN) and the game mode selection would appear. Featured (or popular) gamemodes are listed in larger icons.
Searching for games usually take several seconds.
The Heads Up Display (HUD) is simple and straightforward; your health, armor gauge and character used on the bottom-left, the minimap on the top-left, the player and team wins counter on top and current loadout on the bottom-right. Teammates by default are identified by their health bar and username above their characters, which could be disabled through the "V" key.
Once the game ends, the end-game scoreboard is displayed. The first tab lists down everybody's Kill/ Assists/ Death ratios while the second tab provides a break-down of your performance, such as headshot rate, accuracy and frequently-used weapon(s).
This is where you get to manage your loadout, change weapon skins, main character per faction (Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist) and costumes. There are choices to choose from, separated by categories (Weapons > Pistols/ Shotguns/ Rifles and so forth).
Skin qualities are ranked by grades. Naturally, spray skins are categorized as C-grades, while gold skins bear the S-grades. They are solely for cosmetic purposes and therefore do not affect gameplay in any way.
You are also able to edit the three available loadouts for Team Deathmatch through the Inventory. Rather than manually setting the next weapons to respawn with, pressing the F1, F2 and F3 keys respectively automatically equips your character with the pre-defined loadout until the game ends.
During events which happen frequently, players are able to enjoy freebies, such as fortune boxes, costumes and in-game tokens. While some require playing specific game modes for a pre-determined number of times, many simply involve accumulating game time (lobby or joining a room) for 30 minutes on a daily basis as displayed above.
Fortune boxes like these house special goodies inside. If you're interested in rare skins and characters, don't miss out on giveaway events. You might never know what's waiting for you, such as this awesome AWM Gauss!
If your system is not able to handle the default settings, the Video (fourth) button allow you to change all the details accordingly. There is no Developer Console unlike in Counter-Strike Online so this method is the only solution for adjustments.
